U-Shaped Trench Steel Formwork
U-Shaped Trench Steel Formwork
Precast Concrete Drainage Channel Molding System Product Brochure
1. Product Introduction
The U-shaped trench steel formwork is core tooling for prefabricating U-shaped drainage channel components in urban municipal engineering, highway and railway engineering, and rail transit projects. Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel such as Q345B and Q390B, it is produced through CNC cutting, precision welding, and heat treatment processes.
Its core function is to provide a precise concrete casting cavity for precast U-shaped trench components, ensuring dimensional accuracy within ±2mm, superior surface finish, and consistent structural strength. Prefabricated trench units are transported to site and installed rapidly via jointing, sealing, and backfilling, significantly improving construction efficiency and reducing on-site wet-work pollution.
During the design phase, parameters including trench cross-sectional dimensions, load class, and joint type are integrated to produce detailed formwork disassembly drawings and full structural verification. The final product is completed through blanking, welding, grinding, and anti-corrosion treatment processes.

3. Product Usage Instructions
- Formwork Preparation: Inspect formwork surfaces for deformation, weld slag, or corrosion. Verify fasteners and lifting system are intact. Clean residual concrete and debris from the mold cavity.
- Release Agent Application: Spray water-based or oil-based release agent evenly per product specifications, focusing on all panel-concrete contact surfaces.
- Reinforcement Cage Placement: Gently lower the prefabricated U-shaped trench reinforcement cage with stirrups, longitudinal bars, and embedded parts into the mold. Ensure accurate positioning within 5mm deviation and uniform concrete cover thickness of at least 25mm.
- Concrete Pouring: Pour C30/C35 concrete via pump or chute. Vibrate thoroughly for full compaction, avoiding missed areas or over-vibration, and finish the surface smooth.
- Curing & Demolding: Apply geotextile cover or steam curing in winter after pouring. When concrete reaches 75% of design strength, loosen fasteners, remove lifting gear, and demold slowly to avoid impact damage.
- Formwork Maintenance: Clean the cavity after demolding. Inspect welds and panel wear. Apply anti-rust oil and store by category to avoid deformation from over-stacking.
4. Application Scenarios
- Municipal Engineering: Urban road side ditches, rainwater manhole connection trenches, and underground utility gallery drainage channels.
- Highway Engineering: Subgrade drainage for expressways and Class I highways, and drainage systems for service areas and toll stations.
- Rail Transit Engineering: Drainage around subway and light rail stations, track section subgrade drainage, and parking lot drainage systems.
- Industrial Parks: Linear drainage systems around factory buildings, logistics parks, and energy facilities.
- Water Conservancy Projects: Small river regulation, pump station forebay drainage, and farmland irrigation precast U-shaped channels.
5. Safety Precautions
5.1 Operational Safety
- Strictly follow lifting procedures with balanced lifting points and clear signals. Overloading is strictly prohibited; lifting capacity must be at least 1.5 times the mold weight.
- Wear cut-resistant gloves and safety helmets when handling and moving formwork to avoid cuts from sharp edges.
5.2 Structural Safety
- Regularly inspect welds for cracking, panels for deformation, and fasteners for thread slippage. Immediately take out of service and repair if hazards are identified.
- Control concrete slump between 160–200mm during pouring to avoid formwork deformation from excessive lateral pressure.
5.3 Storage Safety
- Store formwork in a dry, flat area, padded with wooden blocks to prevent direct ground contact and corrosion. Stack by category with maximum height of 2m.
- For long-term storage, apply anti-rust paint and moisture-proof film, and schedule regular inspection and maintenance.
