Oval Trench Steel Formwork

Precast Concrete Oval Drainage Channel Molding System Product Brochure

1. Product Introduction

The Oval Trench Steel Formwork is core tooling for prefabricating oval drainage channel components in precast construction, municipal, highway and rail‑transit engineering. Fabricated from high‑strength steel plates such as Q345B and Q390B through CNC cutting, welded assembly and stress‑relief processes.

Mold split design including 3D modeling and mechanical verification is completed according to oval trench geometry, dimension parameters, joint details and precast accuracy requirements. It forms a modular steel system consisting of bottom mold, side mold, end mold and support assemblies. It provides precise forming cavity for concrete pouring, guarantees geometric accuracy, surface finish and structural strength of precast oval trench units. Prefabricated components are transported to site for splicing installation, replacing traditional cast‑in‑place trenches and greatly improving construction efficiency and service durability.

3. Product Usage Instructions

  • Mold Preparation: Inspect mold for deformation, weld cracking and heavy rust; perform blasting or touch‑up painting if necessary. Clean cavity of residues and oil stains, apply proper water‑based or oil‑based release agent. Install lifting rings, positioning pins and tie bolts and confirm firm connections.
  • Reinforcement Cage Installation: Place prefabricated oval‑trench rebar cage with embedded parts and lifting inserts inside cavity. Secure with positioning frames or magnetic clamps and ensure concrete cover thickness complies with requirements.
  • Concrete Pouring: Pour concrete by pump or chute in layers ≤500 mm. Use combination of immersion and form‑mounted vibrators. Control pouring temperature ≤30℃ to avoid cold joints. Finish surface following designed slope.
  • Curing & Demolding: Cover with geotextile after initial setting (approx. 2‑4 hours, adjusted by ambient temperature); apply steam curing in winter. Demold slowly by crane with special lifting spreader once concrete strength reaches ≥75% of design strength; avoid mold impact.
  • Mold Maintenance: Clean cavity immediately after demolding with high‑pressure air gun and wire brush; inspect welds and panel wear. Apply anti‑rust oil and store in dry sheltered location away from rain and direct sunlight. Re‑check dimensional accuracy before reuse; repair over‑tolerance areas by welding and grinding.

4. Application Scenarios

  • Municipal Engineering: Rainwater and sewage trenches for urban main / secondary / branch roads; precast solution shortens construction period by more than 50% versus cast‑in‑place.
  • Highway Engineering: Shoulder drainage trenches and median divider trenches for expressways, adapted for heavy‑traffic with service durability ≥30 years.
  • Rail Transit: Subgrade drainage for subway / light‑rail sections and station auxiliary trenches requiring high precision and modular assembly.
  • Industrial Parks: Fire‑protection trenches and production wastewater trenches for factory zones; standardized production lowers on‑site pollution.
  • Water Conservancy Facilities: Interception trenches and revetment trenches for small‑scale rivers and reservoirs; waterproof and anti‑scouring precast assembled units.

5. Safety Precautions

5.1 Lifting Safety

  • Adopt dedicated lifting spreader / balance beam; single‑point lifting is strictly prohibited.
  • Verify wire‑rope and shackle rated load ≥1.5 × mold weight before lifting; hoisting operations shall be directed by certified signal personnel.

5.2 Electrical Safety

  • Grounding equipment and residual‑current protectors shall be equipped during welding and repair; operators must wear insulated shoes and gloves.
  • Follow the principle “one machine, one switch, one RCD, one distribution box” for temporary site power supply; cables shall be overhead or routed inside conduits.

5.3 Operational Safety

  • Set warning zones during demolding; keep unauthorized personnel out of working area.
  • Vibrator cables shall not be dragged or immersed in water during concrete pouring to prevent electric shock hazards.

5.4 Storage Safety

  • Molds shall be leveled and fixed against tipping; use tarpaulin for rain protection in open‑air storage.
  • Place on wooden sleepers ≥200 mm height outdoors; keep away from fire sources and chemical substances.
