Steel Molding Platform (Steel Form Table)
Product Brochure and Technical Documentation
1. Product Overview
The Steel Molding Platform is core foundational equipment for the production of precast concrete (PC) components. It serves both as the load-bearing platform of a fixed molding platform system and as a critical component of a flow-line molding table system. The platform is manufactured from high-strength structural steel, including Q235B, Q345B, and Q390B, through CNC cutting, precision welding, stress relief, machining, and surface treatment processes.
As the bottom form, or bed mold, for precast concrete pouring, the steel platform provides a flat, rigid, and reusable reference surface for side molds, end molds, and reinforcement cages. Its surface accuracy directly determines the quality of the bottom face of precast elements, while its stiffness and stability affect dimensional accuracy and structural integrity throughout concrete pouring, vibration, curing, and demolding.
In the Chinese domestic market, a range of standard platform sizes, such as 4 m × 9 m, 4 m × 12 m, and 3.5 m × 9 m, are widely available for direct purchase or customization. We also provide evaluation, refurbishment, and sales services for pre-owned standard platforms, helping customers begin production quickly with lower initial investment.

3. Product Usage Instructions
3.1 Installation and Positioning
Fixed Platform
Embed anchor bolts in the workshop floor or weld positioning stops in place. Position the platform accurately, use a leveling instrument to calibrate levelness to within ≤2 mm over the full length, and secure it using anchor bolts or welding.
Flow-line Platform
Place the platform on the roller conveyor or wheel-rail system. Ensure accurate alignment with upstream and downstream equipment, including the concrete distributor, vibration table, and curing kiln.
3.2 Side Mold and Reinforcement Installation
Position side molds, end molds, and partition molds on the platform according to the design coordinates. Use locating pin holes, magnetic clamps, and T-slots for rapid positioning and fastening.
Install the reinforcement cage and embedded parts for the precast component, including sleeves, lifting points, and connectors. Ensure that the concrete cover thickness is uniform.
3.3 Release Agent Application
Select a water-based or oil-based release agent compatible with the concrete mix. Spray it evenly over the platform surface, avoiding excessive buildup and missed areas.
For components requiring a highly smooth bottom surface, use clad steel plates or galvanized panels as the working surface.
3.4 Concrete Pouring and Curing
Pour concrete by pump or concrete distributor in layers, with each layer not exceeding 500 mm. Compact the concrete using a combination of internal vibrators and external vibrators.
Carry out steam curing or ambient curing in accordance with the production process. Keep the platform stable throughout the curing period to prevent vibration interference.
3.5 Demolding and Turnover
When the concrete reaches demolding strength, typically at least 75% of its design strength, remove the side molds and end molds. Separate the component from the platform using vacuum suction cups, a tilting machine, or lifting equipment.
Clean residual concrete from the platform surface, inspect the deck flatness, reapply release agent, and prepare the platform for the next production cycle.
3.6 Routine Maintenance
- Per Shift: Remove debris and inspect the deck for wear.
- Weekly: Inspect welds for cracks, check bolt pretension, and examine locating pins for wear.
- Monthly: Verify flatness. Repair out-of-tolerance areas through welding and milling.
- Annually: Conduct a comprehensive inspection, including ultrasonic testing and magnetic-particle testing of welds, followed by renewed anti-corrosion coating as required.

5. Safety Precautions
Lifting Safety
Platforms can weigh up to 15 tonnes. Use lifting equipment with an appropriate rated capacity, establish an exclusion zone, and ensure lifting operations are directed by certified signal personnel.
Installation Safety
During multi-person positioning operations, maintain unified command and synchronized movement to prevent crush injuries. When hydraulic jacks are used, ensure that the supporting structure is stable.
Electrical Safety
Electrical equipment installed on the platform, such as vibrators and heating pipes, must be properly grounded. Cables must be elevated or protected by conduits, and residual-current protection devices must be installed.
High-Temperature Safety
During steam curing, platform surface temperatures may exceed 60°C. Operators must wear heat-resistant gloves, and high-temperature warning signs must be displayed.
Structural Safety
Regularly inspect platform flatness and weld conditions. If bulging, cracking, or severe corrosion is identified, immediately remove the platform from service and arrange repair.
Storage Safety
For outdoor storage, support the platform on timber blocks at least 200 mm high and cover it with waterproof tarpaulins to prevent water accumulation and corrosion. Do not stack platforms more than two layers high.
